In 2023, TACS and Korean creative studio Robotoys launched their first collaborative set — a mechanical wristwatch and a handmade, poseable robot figure. More than a gimmick, it was a tribute to precision, playfulness, and the art of storytelling through design.
What began as an experiment became a trilogy of unique creations. Together, we brought timepieces and mechanical toys into harmony — each built with matching serial numbers, shared aesthetics, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Where it all began — classic warmth and camera soul.
The first-ever TACS × Robotoys collaboration launched with the AVL II Bronze, a watch inspired by vintage single-lens cameras. With a rotating bezel and domed sapphire crystal, the AVL II mimics the tactile feel of adjusting an analog focus ring.
This version embraced bronze — a warm, evolving material that gains patina over time — and paired it with a fully handmade bronze-toned Robotoy with matching serial numbers.

A sharper take on camera mechanics.
With the second chapter, the collaboration shifted toward dual-tone contrast and bolder form. The AVL II Two Tune retained the same camera-inspired design, but now dressed in matte silver and black, echoing the industrial edges of modern cameras.
Its paired Robotoy was equally sharp — articulated, sleek, and painted to mirror the metallic feel of the watch.

Twin-lens tribute, elevated in gold.
This third entry marked a turning point. Built on the ATL (Automatic Twin Lens) platform, the ATL Gold mimicked the twin-lens structure of Rolleiflex cameras, complete with multi-layer dials, DLC coating, and gold-tone finish.
The Robotoy? Brushed gold, commanding in presence, standing as a mechanical guardian beside its watch twin.

The final chapter introduces ATL Lite — a thinner, lighter evolution of the ATL. Still built with twin-lens geometry, but now optimized for everyday comfort: reduced weight, rubber strap, improved Swiss luminous, and a 10ATM rating.
The Robotoy? A slimmer, sleeker new design, customized for the U.S. market and ready for action.
